Drawing Blancs was founded by Lauren Szczesny, whose path into wine blends formal education, global experience, and a deep personal connection to the industry.

Lauren has completed multiple wine and business courses through both the Court of Master Sommeliers, and the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, while continuing to expand her knowledge through self-study and real-world exploration.

Her experience isn’t just academic—it’s lived.

She has traveled extensively through some of the world’s most iconic wine regions, including Porto, Rioja, Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion, Veneto, Langhe, Piedmont, Alba, and Emilia-Romagna. 

These experiences shaped not just her understanding of wine, but her perspective on how it’s shared, discussed, and enjoyed.

And long before any of that, her story started closer to home—growing up just a stone’s throw from New York’s Finger Lakes,  where wine was a local experience.
